There were many black bears out and about in the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountains this early May morning, but this situation was special. After feeding for a while mom moved closer to the cubs and took a seat. Very quickly this youngster joined her for some serious cuddling resulting in the most intimate behavior I have ever observed.
