This image was created on a cool spring morning in 2016 from a vantage point looking into the Great Smoky Mountains. As the fog cleared a little, I could see the old farm stead down below me with the mountains rolling away behind it in the blue light of a cloudy early day. I found myself wondering how long this had been someone’s home in the hollow that I was capturing in my moody image.
